A key element of this u-shaped kitchen remodel was maximizing storage. The ceiling-height cabinetry not only enhanced the modern design but also provided ample storage, making the most of the available space. The dining room was also reimagined, with the removal of a hutch allowing more natural light to flow through the kitchen windows. This created a bright and airy space where the family could enjoy their favorite part of the day—dining together while looking out at their beloved redwood tree in the backyard.

The kitchen’s design featured two thoughtfully selected green tiles that added warmth and depth. The backsplash was adorned with Zia Sequoyah tiles, chosen as a tribute to the towering redwood tree outside, while the face of the peninsula showcased Mokota Midori green tiles, distinguished by their subtle color variations and handcrafted edges. To tie the two tile selections together, a Mokota green pencil trim was added to the raw edges of the Zia Sequoyah tile, creating a cohesive and intentional design.

One unique challenge in the remodel was accommodating the clients' router, which needed to remain near the refrigerator. Instead of leaving it exposed on the countertop, we implemented a clever solution by routing the power cord through the cabinet above the fridge and installing floating shelves to house the router seamlessly. This not only hid unsightly cords but also gave the homeowners additional space for plants—a small but meaningful touch that aligned with their love for greenery.
