The garage is a prominent element of their backyard, so it needed to be both aesthetically pleasing and functional. The goal was to mimic the exterior style of the main house. They wanted the garage to exhibit the same quality and charm as the house and they were willing to invest in quality materials and craftsmanship. HDR Remodeling also wanted to ensure it fit in with the layout of their exterior plan which included a deck and yard they often use for entertaining.

This Craftsman ADU in Berkeley challenged our team to find alternative ways of creating great design. For this ADU build, we wanted to highlight the designs of the fixtures and finishes to create a sense of home in the small space.

This Alameda garage had an industrial grungy feel that the clients wanted to maintain. The existing structure had a very strong personality that we felt needed to be preserved and displayed.

This Berkeley client contacted HDR Remodeling to help them re-purpose the old space into habitable space including a bedroom, bath and extra storage.

The homeowners' passion for Asian influenced design set the tone for this East Bay shed converted into an office space. They valued the aesthetic simplicity of Asian architecture complemented with the fine attention to detail.
