ALBANY ADU GUIDELINES
NUMBER OF ADUS PERMITTED: One ADU is allowed per lot that contains one primary residence.
ADU SQUARE FOOTAGE: ADU cannot exceed 1,200 square feet or size of the primary residence.
TYPES OF ADUS ALLOWED: All types are allowed. (Detached, Attached, Junior)
LOT SIZE: No minimum requirement.
SETBACKS: ADU cannot occupy more than 30% of the required setback area or 30% of the entire yard, whichever is greater.
PARKING: All units require parking of equal value.
STRUCTURE: ADU has a maximum limit of two bedrooms.
